A transformative change that could make America—and potentially the world—a better place to live would be a shift toward more transparent, accountable, and participatory governance. This could take many forms, but the overarching theme would be to modernize how governments function, making them more responsive to the needs of their citizens. Here are a few ways this could be implemented:
Adopting Digital Direct Democracy
Modern technology makes it possible for governments to involve citizens directly in decision-making. Imagine a system where, instead of waiting for elections every few years, citizens could vote on key policies, budgets, and reforms through secure digital platforms. This would empower individuals to have a real say in the laws and policies that impact their lives. By decentralizing decision-making, governments would be forced to become more accountable to their citizens.
Benefits:
- Greater engagement and trust in the political system.
- Reduced influence of special interest groups.
- Faster responses to societal needs and crises.
Establishing Universal Basic Income (UBI)
Economic inequality is a major driver of social unrest and instability. Introducing a UBI would ensure that every citizen has access to a basic level of financial security, reducing poverty and giving people the freedom to pursue education, entrepreneurial ventures, or creative projects without the constant pressure of economic survival.
Benefits:
- Reduction in poverty and homelessness.
- Greater support for small businesses and innovation.
- A healthier, more educated population with lower crime rates.
Transitioning to Sustainable Economies
A large-scale commitment to green energy, circular economies, and sustainability-focused policies could protect the planet for future generations. This would involve governments actively investing in renewable energy, green infrastructure, and sustainable agricultural practices, as well as regulating corporations that harm the environment.
Benefits:
- Slows down climate change and protects ecosystems.
- Creates new industries and job opportunities.
- Reduces healthcare costs by improving air and water quality.
Campaign Finance Reform
One of the biggest obstacles to real change in America is the influence of money in politics. By instituting strict campaign finance reforms, such as publicly funded elections and limits on political donations, governments could reduce the undue influence of corporations and wealthy individuals.
Benefits:
- Elected officials would be more accountable to their constituents, not donors.
- More diverse candidates would have a chance to run for office.
- Policies would better reflect the interests of the general population.
Universal Healthcare and Education
Providing universal access to healthcare and education would drastically improve quality of life and reduce inequality. Investing in these public goods not only benefits individuals but also strengthens society as a whole by creating a healthier, more educated, and more productive population.
Benefits:
- Healthier citizens who can contribute more fully to society.
- A more educated workforce ready for the jobs of the future.
- Reduced financial strain on families, leading to more stable communities.
Implementing Restorative Justice Systems
Reforming the criminal justice system to focus more on rehabilitation rather than punishment could reduce crime rates and help reintegrate former offenders into society. Restorative justice emphasizes repairing the harm done to victims and communities rather than simply punishing the offender.
Benefits:
- Lower incarceration rates and reduced prison costs.
- More cohesive, resilient communities.
- Better support for crime victims and mental health services.
Promoting Global Cooperation and Peace
Finally, shifting away from a focus on military dominance and instead investing in diplomacy, global cooperation, and development aid could reduce international conflicts. Encouraging governments to prioritize conflict resolution, climate action, and equitable economic development would promote stability and peace.
Benefits:
- Fewer wars and conflicts, leading to less human suffering.
- More resources available for social programs instead of military spending.
- Strengthened global efforts to combat challenges like pandemics and climate change.
These changes might sound ambitious, but they address systemic issues that hold societies back. By embracing transparency, social equity, sustainability, and citizen participation, governments could foster a world where people’s well-being is the primary measure of progress, not just economic growth.
Ideas For A Better America, A Better World
I know that pure democracy does not work. BUT what if we could figure out a way with modern technology to allow the People to become a 4th branch of the government through voting directly on major issues and law instead of only by representation.
We need a government of the people, by the people, and for the people … Not two political parties that rule the country. Make all elections Independent. Make America Free Again One Nation United Under God.
In some cases we need a system of government outside of congress and general elections where if a large enough majority of the American people can say an issue is right or wrong then congress and the president have to follow the wishes of the people. We need a government of the people, by the people, for the people not one run by those rich enough to get elected and often following their own agendas.
Basic Campaign Promises
1. Restore independence of the USA
2. Reduce government size by 50%
3. Withdraw all American troops internationally except to protect Americans and property
4. Government needs to stay out of business, family affairs, and religion.
Detailed Ideas For A Better America
- Make America a free country again.
- Make sure all Americans have healthy food everyday.
- Make sure all Americans has at least minimal health care.
- Require that every American over 18 has to vote.
- Reinforce the 1st and 2nd amendment.
- Put Limits On Campaign Expenditure – Require future government office candidates to spend less on campaigning and to be more liked by the people, good community leaders, not just the rich.
- Green Sand – Develop parts of US deserts into farm land and livable habitats.
- Require a fire control system in all US National forests and Privately held forests that might pose danger to populated areas.
- Reduce military spending on foreign soil to fund peaceful solutions.
- Consolidate some of the redundant government agencies, CIA, FBI, DOD, INS, Homeland Security, … too many to name all.
- Improve relations with Mexico, Canada and Greenland to form a more United North America.
- Reduce the national debt.
- Reduce unemployment.
- Homeless will be assisted with learning useful skills to earn an income…make sure no one HAS to sleep on the street in a card board box.
- Promote clean environment initiatives.
- Support research into environmental threats such as pole shifting, climate change, asteroid watch.
- Eliminate benefits to Illegal aliens … reinforce laws to prevent them from getting jobs. In some cases being in the USA illegal will be treated as treason and terrorist acts.
- Work with foreign governments to reduce US prison population of illegal aliens minor offenders to have them extradited back to their home countries as quickly as possible.
- Reduce direct government spending on space and provide greater assistance with loans, grants and rewards to privately held companies.
- No Tax cuts for anyone until the national debt is reduced.
- Reduce the trade deficit with other countries by offering incentives to US companies manufacturing of cheaper goods as an alternative.
- Push For Education About Religions “on all religions” as an elective for the public school system.
- Term limits for representatives and senators.
- Reduce government political office salaries starting with the presidents.
- Push for salary increases of public support systems like military, teachers, law enforcement, rescue, fire departments and other that directly increase the security of our nation from inside.
- Help people, help themselves. What we need is to take down every government give away until our retirees get what they paid for. No freebies for illegals, no freebies to people who just do not want to work low paying jobs, no hand outs to foreign nations. Every retiree whom worked most of their lives supporting this country should be making well above poverty level.
- Do everything possible to end racism.
- Make education the number one priority on the federal budget. Higher pay for teachers. Invest in upgraded facilities aimed at science and technology.
Where I Stand on Issues
- Abortion – Abortion laws are wrong. Personally I think that taking a life no matter how insignificant is wrong. BUT that is a choice the mother has to make. Our only recourse is better education on prevention and what really means a life.
- Gun Control – I stand behind the 2nd amendment to a point. But we need gun control, the right to bear arms was not the right to build your own private armory.
- Gay Rights – I keep my sex life to myself, you do the same we won’t have a problem. No same sex marriages.
- Death penalty, against it. But there must be reforms in the prison system so people incarcerated can repay some of their debts to society.
- Mexico Illegals – Proposal to reduce illegals
A. Do away with visa application fee for worker class and those that cannot afford it.
B. Make the system to get here less obstructive up front and Increase the background search on the ground.
C. Set up a network of employers in the USA that would employee migrants.
To get here legally is obstructive to the working class and cost more for a $160 visa than it costs to cross on your own illegally.
This process would give us more information on individuals before they break the law.
Proposals For New Law
- To purchase a gun you must swear allegiance publicly to the United States that the gun will only be used to protect you and your family / hunting,
- Illegal aliens breaking US law major offenses such as murder should be considered foreign invaders and treated as terrorists.
- Make American English the official language of the USA.
- Only US citizens can own land in the USA,
South Carolina
Is it not time for South Carolina to have a president. Andrew Jackson is the only president who claimed to be born in South Carolina but he represented Tennessee as his residence.
I was born in Clinton, South Carolina November 23, 1961. My present US residence is in Laurens, SC.
The number of presidents born per state are:
- One: Arkansas, California, Connecticut, Georgia, Hawaii, Illinois, Iowa, Kentucky, Missouri, Nebraska, New Hampshire, New Jersey, Pennsylvania, and South Carolina.
- Two: North Carolina, Texas, and Vermont.
- Four: Massachusetts
- Five: New York
- Seven: Ohio.
- Eight: Virginia. – seems a little unfair doesn’t it?
At Your Next Elections:
Write in who you think should fill the office you are voting for.
Lets make America a country for the people by the people again.
- Vote for a leader. Vote for someone you know will lead our country.
- Do Not Vote for politicians
- Do Not Vote for the same old candidates
- Do Not Vote because the media says someone is good.
- Do Not Vote for someone because they make promises.
- Do Not Vote for political parties.
- Do Not Vote for someone just because they are on the ticket.
- Do Not Vote for someone because they got money and power.
In 2016
Donald Trump:
received 62 million popular votes.
How many of those 62 million actually knew the man are did they only know what they had seen in news reports and TV.
Hilary Clinton:
received 65 million popular votes.
Did that many people actually know this woman.
If we have to have 100 million different write ins for president so be it…make sure you REALLY know who you are voting for before they get into office.
Political Skills
I have traveled the world extensively. I have lived, adapted to and learned the ways of various cultures. I have no official political history but my life has been adapting to political situations. I am presently living as a non resident in Bandung, Indonesia. .
Americans United
Basic Beliefs – Change Is Needed – Less Government Control
We stand for the flag and the National Anthem. We support our President We support our service men and women who defend us with their lives. We also support our police officers and our first-responders. We do not agree with everything that is Democrat. We do not agree with everything that is Republican. We Take a firm stand that the present political system needs change.
Religious Beliefs
My principal religion is in my heart and between me and God. My main beliefs are to follow the teachings of Jesus.
Master, which is the great commandment in the law?
Jesus said unto him, Thou shalt love the Lord thy God with all thy heart, and with all thy soul, and with all thy mind.
This is the first and great commandment.
And the second is like unto it, Thou shalt love thy neighbor as thyself.
On these two commandments hang all the law and the prophets.
I was raised up in Christianity, Southern Baptist. I accepted Catholicism when I was older. I also accepted Islam. I have studied all the principal religious books. I believe that most all religious faiths started out as a message from God. But I stand behind none firmly as a whole.
How can anyone believe in religion as it is taught; There are more than 40,000 denominations of Christianity. There are at least 20 different Catholic versions where each church has its own traditions and is to some extent self-governing. Islam has 3 main divisions Sunni Islam, Shia Islam, and Kharijites. But after that it splits up into many different practices among the followers.
I remember when I was a kid 10 years old and was encouraged to go to the alter to ask Jesus to save me. There at the alter I did not understand anything. The pastor asked me if my bags were packed and are you ready to accept Jesus as your savior. I had just returned from summer vacation at my grandmas so I told him yes.
It was not until later that night I lay in bed and prayed for God to guide my heart that I truly understood. It was then in bed talking to God that I asked for forgiveness and for him to send the Holy Spirit to guide me that I truly understood.
